THE GREEN LEGION AND THE BLUE ANGELS INVADE SAN FRANCISCO, OCTOBER 7TH-11TH, 2010!!
| We here at The Legion couldn't be happier about the date for this game! Over the last 4 years, we have successfully traveled close to 600 people to this great city, and the trip gets better EVERY year! Allow me for a moment to tell you why this has become one of my favorite destinations! First, we are staying at the Radisson Fisherman's Wharf! We have had a long standing relationship with them and their hotel is located right on Embarcadero, basically, the only street you need down in the Wharf! It's literally a block walk to Pier 39, and every bar we do anything with is ALL within walking distance!! |

Our THURSDAY night Green Legion Bar Crawl will see you head to Wipeout, a phenomenal surf bar on Pier 39, followed by the Hard Rock Café, then to Knuckle's Sports Bar (rated top 10 sports bars in the country) and finally ending up at Fiddler's Green where my friends there will welcome us once again with open arms!! There will be amazing Miller LITE specials and also other house drink specials! You will come to love all of these bars!
FRIDAY morning will see The Green Legion take its coveted winery tour of Napa and Sonoma Valley! The wine tour is NOT included in the package price since there are people who will choose to do their own sightseeing. However, if you want to join us as a Green Legion group, then we will be offering it at a extra cost. You don't have to be a wine fan to enjoy this and something different that is going to take place this year is that we are going to do this one on our own! I have been on 5 winery tours and I now know the places I really want to see. The tour companies always include three wineries, one very nice one, one medium one, and a garbage one that no one gives a rat's ass about! Now that I know many of these locations, I also know how much they charge. We should be able to do this less expensively and see three great wineries. We will see Viansa which is a cool boutique winery with an olive farm and Italian market attached to it. Also on the list is Cline Cellar where our tasting will be in the barrel room, and we should actually see the berries being crushed. And finally, Castello di Amorosa which is essentially a castle and our tasting will take place in the dungeon! MORE IMPORTANTLY, we can tell the bus drivers to stop in Sonoma to watch the Phillies when they are in the playoffs!! This has happened twice where we had to leave! NOT THIS TIME!!

If you would care to join me, my favorite sushi restaurant is located in San Francisco called Blowfish, Sushi To Die For. They do in fact serve blowfish if it's in season and yes, not properly prepared, it can kill you. Not for the faint of heart! Check out Tiernan's and the Dirty Martini as well!

Two years ago, we were lucky enough to have this game scheduled over FLEET WEEK which you can check out here, http://www.fleetweek.us! It's the 30th year that San Francisco has hosted the United States Navy's tradition of honoring the men and women who serve! The Blue Angels perform along with many other military demonstrations and air shows, and ALL OF THIS TAKES PLACE IN FISHERMAN'S WHARF where we are staying!!
| The big show takes place on Saturday, and we will watch it from The Rock, as that is the day we will do our tour of Alcatraz (*NOT INCLUDED, roughly $25 extra if you want to go as part of the group)!! This is where many of us watched the show 2 years ago and I can't tell you how cool it is. You will enjoy the hell out of this weekend! Oh, did I mention that October is the greatest month of the year in San Fran. There will be no rain and 78 degrees every day!! |  |
Saturday night is once again the coveted Green Legion Pep Rally Party at Fiddler's Green which is about 2.5 blocks from the hotel! Fiddler's has been our party location for many years, and we are lucky to have them. When you first walk in, it's not much to see, but wait 'til you head upstairs and you go, NICE!!
Sunday will see us once again by the stadium with our infamous BIG NATE'S BARBECUE TAILGATE catered by Big Nate Thurmond, Hall of Fame basketball player who played his formidable years in the Bay Area with the Golden State Warriors! His menu is AWESOME and it is our best tailgate we have!
One other thing I like about playing in San Francisco...WE HAVE A PERFECT UNDEFEATED RECORD THERE!! So, 4-nights in beautiful San Francisco and all this included should be pretty expensive, right? I don't think so!
