THE GREEN LEGION INVADES SAN DIEGO, NOVEMBER 12TH-16TH, 2009!! Well kids, it’s finally here!! This is the one we have been waiting a DECADE for and I am thankful to say, it couldn’t have fallen on a better date!! The Legion cometh baby and cometh STRONG!! With over 400 people ALREADY signed up for this trip, the staff here at The Legion was about to have to make some strong decisions as to how we were going to handle the amount of people we are expecting and thankfully enough, we came up with a great solution! Mission Beach and Pacific Beach are basically on top of each other! Hey, you want to go to San Diego, you don't want to stay downtown!! You want to stay on the water!! Due to the increasingly popularity of this trip, we have now added a FOURTH hotel to the mix, the Dana Hotel. You will still be able to choose between the Hyatt Regency Mission Bay and the Dana, but we have overwhelmingly exceeded our room block at the Hyatt, and have been told any further bookings will come at an increased cost. You can check out the new rates for the Hyatt in the Packages & Pricing section. The Dana will still fall under our original package prices, and is again a waterfront based hotel in Mission Bay, right around the corner from the Bahia! Upon arrival, get in your shorts or swimwear (ladies, bikinis, no choice) and head to the bar, grab a cocktail, and go to the beach! Or, head to the “O”fficial Green Legion headquarters for the week, the Wave House, http://www.wavehousesandiego.com/!! What is the Wave House?! It is what the Clevelander is to South Beach and what Castaways is to Chicago in the summertime!! Your Green Legion wristband will get you specials there all day long and something else a little special as we get further into this description! The place is outdoors right on the beach and for the most part is all sand covered! There are two wave machines on either side of the bar, one with a 10’ barrel! Apparently it is very fun to watch people wiping out! There are 3 Tiki bars and a host of other watering locations and their capacity is 1,875 people!!!! Thursday night will see the Mission Beach Bar Crawl! Again, Mission Beach baby! We are currently arranging our bars for this night and will post more information as we get more. Friday night is similar, but different! Friday night we will have the Pacific Beach BLOCK PARTY and this will include our Friend of a Feather Eagles bar in San Diego, Plum Crazy! Because of the sheer nature of expected numbers, there will be 4 or 5 bars that will be doing specials all night for us!! Do make sure you make it a point to get to our brethren at Plum Crazy at some point!! Saturday night is going to be a very special night for us and allow me to get sentimental for a moment. The largest trip The Green Legion has ever run was for 675 people to Dallas in 2004. Coincidentally, that game took place on November 15th! The largest Pep Rally Party that The Green Legion ever hosted took place on November 14th where we had over 1,300 people rock The Bone in the Deep Ellum section of Dallas, TX! In case you didn’t know, The Bone was supposed to be closed that night and I had to beg and plead and mortgage my first child to convince them it should open! Good thing for them, huh?! Well, the Wave House is technically not open as well on November 14th, but now they are! And we will rock that number from exactly 5 years prior before we ROCK the Chargers exactly 5 years to the date the next afternoon!! People, I can’t tell you how excited I am about this trip and how long I have waited for it! As an event planner, you dream about being able to put together a trip like this with this much cool stuff taking place!
