THE GREEN LEGION INVADES DALLAS - DECEMBER 16TH, 2007!! It seems like forever since we were in Dallas because the Legion did not head down over Christmas last year. The prior year, the game took place in early October and it just seems like a fading memory. That may have had something to do with the fact that I was hammered the entire time. It was not a game to remember as the Eagles got shellacked. But it is a different team and this game will more than likely have HUGE playoff implications. This year's trip brings us back to where it all started I am thankful to say! We arrive on Friday, December 14th at the Westin City Center Dallas located right downtown. This is where 675 Legionnaires stayed in November of 2004 when the Birds destroyed the Cowboys in a Monday night route that had two of ESPN's Top 25 Plays of the Year including McNabb's ridiculous scramble and the bomb he launched to Freddie Mitchell 60 yards down the field! I am a bit superstitious and if the place we stay holds any mystical power, then we are set! Remember, all Westin's have the heavenly beds and heavenly showers. I know you don't spend much time in your room, but when you are there, you will be pampered. Friday when we arrive, we will have a 1-hour cocktail reception compliments of the Westin. This will take place later in the evening on Friday as to make sure everyone is down. Then, we head out for our bar crawl. In typical Legion fashion, we will shock the residents of this town and make sure they know we ARE the favorite in the East. Saturday day will see the Legion's return to the largest HOOTER's in the world. And then we will actually go to the restaurant. Just kidding! We will have specials all day at Hooter's while we get ready for the evening. Saturday night will see yet another cocktail hour compliments of my friend Matt Sciarrino, the Sales Director at the Westin. Just like the night before, all the beer and mixed drinks you can put down for an hour. I have an extremely good relationship with this hotel and its staff and they welcome us with open arms. And then comes Saturday night! Does anyone remember the last "UN"Official Pep Rally Party I threw in Dallas? That's right! Saturday night, December 15th, will mark the return of the Legion to THE BONE in the Deep Ellum section of Dallas. All I know is the party was supposed to start at 9 PM a few years ago. I decided to show up fashionably late at 9:20 figuring I could meet and greet most people as they were coming in. Well, at that point, over 1,300 people were already through the door. Whoops!! Time to do it all over again! Sunday morning we rise and head to Texas Stadium. Believe it or not, I have a great relationship with the Dallas Cowboys. They always reserve us a special section in the parking lot where the tailgate will be catered by my and local favorite, Eddie Dean's Barbecue! The menu will consist of everything you have come to love from them such as beef brisket, barbecued chicken, and smoked turkey. Obviously, all the potato salad, cole slaw, trimmings, and desserts as well! Feel free to look at past pics of the Legion's treks to Dallas for what the spread looks like down there. It is relatively amazing! Nice thing about this game...It is a 3:15 Central Time kickoff which means we don't have to be up at the but-crack of dawn. Buses will leave promptly at 9:30 AM which for you will feel like 10:30 AM. It's enough time to get up, lick your wounds from the night before, and put the drinking hat back on. Let's see if we can kick 48 kegs like we did in 2004! Pricing for this trip is as follows: (All prices are per person) 4 people to a room - $600 per person Round-trip direct flights on American Airlines to and from Philadelphia. A $250 deposit is due upon booking 720 N 5th St
