THE GREEN LEGION INVADES THE BIG EASY, OCTOBER 13-16th!!
Sunday, October 15 - Eagles @ New Orleans

Before I explain this package, allow me to say The Green Legion and it's partners still sympathize with the victims of Hurricane Katrina. Although the city is starting to thrive once again, the devastation this storm caused will lay heavy on the minds of many for quite some time and our prayers go out to those friends and families.

That being said, the French Quarter is still going to see a thunderous Green Legion invasion! We are coming and we're coming to win! The game takes place in the revitalized and historical Superdome and the party takes place on hedonistic Bourbon Street!! AND THE PARADE takes place from Bourbon Street all the way to the Superdome. Yeah, I said parade!!

Allow me to explain the Green Legion Airline situation. Because of Katrina, all of the major carriers have pulled routes from New Orleans. I think it will pick up by then, but the current situation only has two direct flights into New Orleans from Philadelphia each day. I only have 54 spots on one of those flights. In an effort to help us get there in a more efficient manner, I was able to negotiate the help of Air Tran who I have done business with in the past. Right now, I have two ENTIRE connecting flights on Friday and two ENTIRE connecting flights on Saturday going into New Orleans through Atlanta. This is 234 people per day. I have been assured by Air Tran that if we can be a bit flexible on times those days, they will turn those flights into DIRECT flights instead of stopping in Atlanta. Hence, Green Legion Airways!! Nice part for us is I know they are going to do it because they save on fuel and airport taxes if they do. Also, since I have the entire plane for 4 flights, there will be a lottery drawing about two weeks before the game and I will randomly select 12 people per flight to fly first class (actually considered business class on Air Tran). Good times!!

You will check into the Astor Crown Plaza (http://www.astorneworleans.com). This is a beautiful hotel on the corner of Canal and Bourbon Street right at the start of the French Quarter. If you come down Friday night, you will be able to indulge in any bar you like on Bourbon Street. Saturday night will see the "UN"Official Pep Rally party at a bar yet to be determined. I am shooting for Pat O'Brien's, Razzoo, Utopia, or the Frat House (Bourbon Street's newest bar). All are larger bars and we will need the space. The street will be closed so look out baby!! And then we get to Sunday…….

Ahh, Sunday morning you will wake up feeling refreshed from the 2 hours of sleep you got the night before. You'll take a shower or put a hat on, brush your teeth, and head back to Bourbon Street for your 8 AM tailgate party and brunch at the Frat House!! AT 11 AM…HaHa!! You will filter out onto the street where the police will be waiting for you. But this time, not to take you to jail for a D and D. No, this time, they will be ESCORTING us to the Superdome in the very first GREEN LEGION PARADE!! As the alcohol of the morning meets the alcohol from the night before, suddenly, the irresistible strains of New Orleans jazz fill the room. An umbrella-toting Grand Marshal dips and swirls as he leads the band around the bar. Costumed revelers mingle with everyone and distribute Mardi Gras beads, masks and hats for the coming parade. As the group flows outside, they are delighted to find a Mardi Gras parade assembled in their honor. Costumed stiltwalkers, walking "big heads" and Mardi Gras revelers all join in the lively second-line behind the strutting band. We'll stop traffic as we parade to the Superdome, and I'll be certain that all of you have lots of beads and trinkets to throw to the crowds gathered to view this New Orleans tradition.
